Gauri Block-Printed Napkins

Welcome to our new collection, dreamt up in the heart of the Kashmir Valley—where mornings smell faintly of saffron, the mountains wake up in shades of lavender, and houseboats bob on Dal Lake like they’re in no hurry at all. Our colors come straight from everyday Kashmir: the mauves tucked into embroidered pherans, the lime-green sparkle of fresh willow leaves, and the soft grapefruit pink of almond blossoms drifting through spring air. It’s a palette borrowed from bazaars, mountains, meadows, and quiet moments—woven together to feel a little magical, a little nostalgic, and completely Kashmir. They are made entirely by hand; subtle nuances are part of the charm. Designed in New York, Made in India

Size: 18"x18", set of 4

About the Artisan:Soil to Studio is a Brooklyn-based textile design studio founded in 2019 by Swati Bansal, who grew up in the culturally rich city of Udaipur, India, surrounded by craft traditions passed down by her mother and grandmother. After more than a decade in banking, Swati followed her true calling — returning to her roots to collaborate directly with weaving and block-printing communities across rural India. The brand's name tells its own story: soil representing the land her artisans belong to, and studio the place where their work is reimagined for modern homes. Every piece is hand-woven or hand block-printed using natural fibers and traditional techniques, with a design aesthetic that is pattern-rich, quietly luxurious, and deeply connected to India's textile heritage. Soil to Studio operates on fair trade principles, with artisans setting their own wages, reflecting the brand's core belief that each purchase is a direct investment in preserving both a craft and a community.
