Spoon Rest
I love a good spoon rest, or dublé if you are super fancy. I imagine these types of things litter the archeological record, more often than not probably an ad hoc’ed broken bowl or scrap of something, perhaps a shell. For as long as humans have cooked, we have probably thought, “Dirty spoon goes where?”, and thus a spoon rest was created.
A nice-looking handmade ceramic spoon rest signals several important things to your guests:
1) You have great taste, and are clearly someone to respect.
2) You have gotten tired of cleaning dried tomato sauce from your stovetop. You are an efficient, clean, and powerful person.
3) Details matter. You probably know when to use “their” or “they’re” correctly.
