Montado cork is harvested from generational cork forests of Portugal, where it is extracted from cork oaks every nine years without damaging the health of the tree. Produced by a proud female-run company committed to protecting the forests and planet, the result is a completely natural and recyclable Smart Susan. The base is made with Acacia wood. The Acacia trees captures carbon from the atmosphere, while also working as long-lasting carbon storage in our Smart Susan. As a fast-growing and adaptive species, acacia trees enable a sustainable supply of acacia timber offering gorgeous tones and shades.
